Freight train driver in critical condition after crash with road train in Kalgoorlie

Two freight train drivers aged in their 70s have been airlifted to Perth after a collision with a road train in Kalgoorlie, Western Australia.
Emergency services were called to the Yarri Road crossing, a few kilometres east of the CBD, at about 5:00pm yesterday.
The drivers, both aged 70, were flown to Perth this morning, with one listed as being in a critical condition and the other stable.
The truck driver, aged in his 40s, sustained minor injuries.
In a statement, rail freight operator Aurizon said it was providing support to its employees and their families.
